Courtney Fincher, FNP-BC Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
I am a native Houstonian and grew up in the Klein area. I graduated from Klein Oak High School. In college, I was invited to be a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. I graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Houston Health Science Center.
I then joined the team at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the medical center. I worked in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit taking care of people after various cardiovascular surgeries, including heart and lung transplants, and open heart surgery. I also gained experience with individuals with heart devices and those on continuous dialysis.
I always knew that I wanted to return to school and become a nurse practitioner. I went back to school, continued my membership in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, and obtained a Masters of Science degree. My research for the professional project was focused on childhood obesity in the primary care setting. After graduation, I became certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
I began my career as a nurse practitioner in family medicine and quickly decided I preferred pediatric medicine. After having three children of my own, I found it rewarding to take care of children and their parents. My philosophy is to treat my patients as if they are my own children.
